An area of low pressure is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone gradually over the seas east of the Philippines. It will enter the northern part of the South China Sea in the latter part of this week, and move in the general direction of the vicinity of the coast of Guangdong over the weekend and intensify progressively. However, there are uncertainties in its landfall position. It will be windy with squally showers and thunderstorms over the region. There will be swells. Under the influence of a southerly airstream, the weather will remain unsettled over the coast of southern China early next week.
