The subtropical ridge will bring very hot weather to the coast of southeastern China today and tomorrow. The area of low pressure now near the Philippines will develop into a tropical cyclone gradually over the central and southern parts of the South China Sea today and tomorrow. However, there are uncertainties in its intensity. The tropical cyclone is expected to move in the general direction of the vicinity of Hainan Island and Beibu Wan in the latter part of this week. It will be windy and the weather will become unsettled with squally showers and thunderstorms over the coast of southern China. There will be swells. Under the influence of an active southerly airstream, it will still be windy with occasional showers and thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong during the weekend to early next week.
