Payment Methods in Macao

Cash (MOP, HKD, CNY)

  • Macanese Pataca (MOP) is the official currency.
  • Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) are also accepted (most places are 1:1 exchange rate, but exchange rates might vary in some places).
  • Chinese Yuan (CNY) is sometimes accepted.
  • Where to use cash? Everywhere in Macao.

Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay)
